BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU + CHILDRENS CLASS
Henry Matamoros is a first degree black belt under Pedro Sauer, a directly ranked decendant of Helio Gracie. With over 23 years of Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, and Judo experience (he is also a brown belt in Judo), Matamoros has also competed professionally in Mixed Martial Arts and established himself in the Midwest as the "Don of Jiu Jitsu" for being the first to use the style exclusively in the ring. After a decade and a half in the Milwaukee area, Denver is the new home to the Costa Rican native. Henry enjoys teaching Jiu Jitsu as the literal Japanese translation, "the gentle art."
MUAY THAI KICKBOXING + CARDIO FITNESS
Emily Burns has over three years of kickboxing experience and trained for a year at the prestigious Team Curran Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Illinois, where she worked closely with boxing coach Doug Mango and trained with professional fighters including Felice Herrig and Pat Curran. Originally from Wisconsin, she has competed in many Jiu Jitsu competitions and plans on continuing her pursuit of professional Mixed Martial Arts competition.

A gi is manditory to participate in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Gi classes. Premium quality and affordable gis are directly available through Denver Fight Club. Please ask an instructor for more information. Under gi top, a shirt is required. Rashguards or moisture-wick fabric shirts are preferred. A mouthguard is highly recommended. Under-armour tights, vale tudo shorts, mma shorts, leggings, or grappling/yoga pants are recommended under gi pants.
For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - No - Gi classes, kickboxing, and MMA classses, appropriate clothing is required. Clean and comfortable shorts, gi pants, or grappling/yoga pants are ideal. Nothing with zippers or rough edges. Rashguards or moisture-wick fabric shirts are preferred. No loose t-shirts. A mouthguard is highly recommended.
MUAY THAI KICKBOXING
For kickboxing classes, hand wraps, shin guards, and 16 ounce boxing gloves or Muay Thai gloves are required. A mouthguard and headgear is required for sparring.
Good hygene is required and an expression of repect for yourself and others around you. Please be mindful not to have long nails, exposed piercings (may be covered with medical tape,) jewelry, or any other accessories that could be hazardous. A mouthguard is highly recommended for all classes.
